Designer Masha Ma has hit dizzying fashion heights since
showing her collections with Vauxhall Fashion Scout; the AW12 Catwalk at Paris
Fashion Week being the latest success.
The Chinese born designer studied at the prestigious
Central St Martins before being picked by Vauxhall Fashion Scout to showcase
her designs as part of the home of new talent.
Masha Ma works between Shanghai and Paris (where her
stylist Andrej Skok is based) but PFW AW12/13 was her first standalone Parisian
catwalk debut.
The collection, inspired by Oscar Wilde’s short story ‘The
Nightingale and the Rose’, clearly portrays the themes of strength and femininity.
The dreamy shades of cream and pink mixed with ink blue, dark beige and
midnight black echo the themes of the story and create a strong and confident
collection. An array of fabrics, from goats fur to cashmere, create a sculptured
winter look with fur collared coats and
cropped pleated jackets.
