A refreshing and innovative collection from
Royal College of Art graduate Xiao Li comes in the form of a futuristic
re-imagining of classic shapes and techniques.
The collection of monochrome colour palettes was accented with shots of shocking
cobalt blue where elements of sportswear met with feminine intricacy.
A new wave of girlish aesthetic balanced
with boyish charm featured dungarees in pastel colours and soft silhouettes
that featured peplumed skirts and billowing sleeves. Detailing added to rubber
fabrics reinvented the classic motorcycle jacket with a fun and futuristic vibe
with a mixing of fabric expertly done.
The piece that had the audience in awe was
the spectacular finale piece featuring an LED light display that reaffirmed
Xiao Li as the innovative designer she is and brought her design vision and
craftsmanship to the forefront.
No stranger to success, Xiao Li, who also studied at London College of
Fashion has previously been awarded the Diesel Award from International Talent
Support as well as the Loro Plana award for best knitwear collection in 2013.
