Enjoying the show from their front row seats we spotted Made in Chelsea stars and fashion bloggers, Rosie Fortescue and Oliver Proudlock. We caught up with them after the show to hear what they had to say.

What did you think of the show?

Rosie: We loved it, in particular the colours and the print.

Oliver: It was something a bit different, with an edge. I would definitely wear it.

What do you think of the Fashion Scout platform on a whole?

Rosie: I think it’s great, its really good for up and coming designers to be able to showcase their collections like this; and to get noticed aswell.

Oliver: That’s the thing, it’s really amazing to see so many new designers and young faces, it’s great they get this help. Basically we love Fashion Scout, I would like to show my own collections hear one day.

COLLECTION| NIAN SS14

Styled by Nesley Nazari, SS14 at NIAN by Nihan Buruck is the woman empowered. This woman is smart; she is strong; she is her own person and she dares to work her creativity. The Turkish, Yeditepe University graduate has been developing her aesthetic in her Istanbul based studio since 2007 and is back after a showcase with the RunWay Collective last season with her Fashion Scout solo catwalk debut.

Rooney Mara in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo styling; androgynous long line sleeveless blazers courted one piece swimsuits while subtly printed fabrics floated like water behind the models. Soft tailoring to the extreme; blazers made of silk that from a distance, could have been tweed. The illusion of print and layering twinned with a sense of sensibility lent beautifully to the panelled blouses and thigh scraping shorts while an extreme nod to the masculine saw a quartet of male models broke the line of winged heels donned in sophisticated suits.

With a packed front row; the crowds were out in force to support the young talent and Nazari did not disappoint. The focused collection compiled of a subtle palette of mauves, lime greens and dirty whites to name but a few. The show galvanised with The Chemical Brothers to a resounding applause from onlookers.

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT SS14| NIAN

Introducing our Designer Spotlight series for the SS14 international designers who are showcasing their talents on the Fashion Scout catwalk during London Fashion Week this September. 

NIAN, the label created by Turkish designer Nihan Buruk, showcased last season at Fashion Scout as part of the Runway Collective show. Known for their avant-garde style, NIAN's AW13 collection presented a androgynous style of sharp tailoring and stunning linear cuts to an acclaimed reception. Nihan Buruk graduated in Fashion and Textile Design from Istanbul's Yeditepe University in 2007 and since then has been creating her collections in her own private studio in Istanbul.

NIAN will be showcasing on Day One of Fashion Scout London SS14 at 4.30pm.
