EXHIBITION| Homo Consommatus SS15

With our Fashion Scout exhibition room playing host to a selection of this seasons innovative new design talent, we caught up with brand Homo Consommatus to get their thoughts on showing at Fashion Scout and to find out more about their SS15 collection.

Can you tell us about what has inspired your collection?

The direct inspiration is the Seagram Building and Hearst Tower in New York and the idea of reconstruction, as well as the definition of Singleton from Eric Klinenberg's book ‘Going Solo’. Most of the garments have a touch of unfinishing, inside-out construction. All of the collection is fully hand-made with unique embroidery and hot press gluing. We have used one of the best cashmeres in the world throughout our collection as well as wool organza, baby lama, deer suede, bamboo, silk and plastic.

What do you think of Fashion Scout as a platform for progression for new designers?

It is our first season and the second day, we don't know exactly what to expect but we have had a good start, we are really happy to be showcasing here especially in the exhibition space where we can meet lots of people so we hope that in the future we can do more with Fashion Scout.

What are your plans for the future?

We will continue to develop the brand, but moving the brand abroad from Russia to gain more global exposure and to reach new clients.
