The Fashion Scout Paris Showroom is officially open. We are pleased to present 22 of the greatest emerging talents from around the globe at our home in the Marais, 23 Rue du Roi de Sicile, 75004. 

Open daily from 10am - 7pm the Fashion Scout Paris showroom welcomes both buyers and press from the UK and Internationally. The line up of designers includes LVMH Award nominee Xiao Li alongside Fashion Scout Merit Award winners Gyo Yuni Kimchoe and James Kelly. 

Renowned for discovering the very best new designers, Fashion Scout is hailed as a talent launchpad worldwide.

PARIS SHOWROOMS| Drinks Reception SS15

On Saturday night, Fashion Scout held a drinks reception for press and buyers in its Paris Showroom in the heart of Marais. Well attended by members of the Fashion Industry, guests enjoyed glasses of Prosecco and chilled Vita Coco's whilst nibbling tasty Propercorn and discovering the latest design talents from around the world.

Visitors to the showroom so far include: Balmain, Bengt, Comme des Garcons, CFE, Dover Street Market, DASH Magazine, David Longshaw, Interview Magazine, Joyce, Kirsty Ward, Koon, Le Bon Marche,  LOVE Magazine, Luisa Via Roma, LVMH, Opening Ceremony, The British Fashion Council, UKFT and Voulez Vous.

On the success of the evening, Fashion Scout Director Martyn Roberts spoke; "We are so thrilled about the visitors we have had to the showroom and drinks reception this season, our designers are exceptionally talented and this is a great platform for them to be seen in Paris and make the valuable orders with buyers they need."

Paris Showroom | Spotlight on Texture

In the Fashion Scout showroom, designers are playing with textures to inject spice to classic shapes - the more playful the better. 

LULU LIU

Chinese born, London based Lulu Liu is now in her fifth season. SS15's collection features weaving, slicing and tearing of fabrics to create layers and textures. 

What is this collection about?

This collection is inspired by English vintage toys and cars. A child’s toys are a very personal thing and bring back a lot of childhood memories. The colours of vintage toys are very English and transmit the culture. I also am obsessed with graphics so my prints are inspired by original and traditional writing –the woodblock type font- as opposed to computer-processed graphics. This season I have also used a lot of lines – not necessarily straight, they can be curved and so on – to shape the silhouettes. I love how the lines can be used to create a body shape and how this changes when reacting with the environment (the wind, the street).

Where do you get your fabrics and where do you produce your collections?

I get my fabrics from Korea and the UK and I produce my clothes in China and the UK. When I use silk it is 100% silk. I want to use very good quality fabrics that are soft and flexible. I want them to be very comfortable to wear.

Do you focus more on the texture of your collection or the prints.

Both. We develop the print and the shape of the collections at the same time. I give everything equal importance; shape, cut, texture, print and so on.

GYO YUNI KIMCHOE

The amazingly talented Gyo Kim and Yuni Cho are the duo that form Gyo Yuni Kimchoe, SS15 prestigious Merit Award winners. Their debut collection is an outstanding show of cut, colour selection and playful textures. 

What is the story of this collection?

The statement of this collection is anti-war. Right now there are too many conflicts and wars in the world. We use a gardener as a metaphor of army soldiers. So the gardener will kill and remove the weeds like the soldiers will kill their enemies. However, our gardener will plant, grow and protect the weeds and our soldier will protect their enemy. This is why the collection is called “Weed, Gardener, Corps”. We have given military gears a twist with gardener looks.

Is the texture of your garments an important factor for your collections?

Yes, we give more emphasis on texture, silhouette and cut rather than prints.

Who do you design for?

Someone who has a very unique personality and who cares about the world.

If you could describe your brand in 3 words which ones would you use?

Sustainability (an eco-friendly new fashion but from a different perspective; care about the world’s social issues), Quirky and Fun 

The designers collections will be on display today and tomorrow in the Fashion Scout Paris Showroom, 23 Rue Du Roi De Sicile, 75004. Opening Hours: Monday 10.00 - 19.00, Tuesday 10.00 - 17.00. 

EXCLUSIVE| SS15 Paris Showroom Dates Announced

The SS15 season may well be fast approaching in London but soon after, Fashion Scout will take the talent to their Paris showroom. From Friday the 25th September to the 30th September, the showroom will be showcasing the work of 23 designers, including our Merit Award winner Gyo Yuni Kimchoe, two of our Ones to Watch, six Kiev designers and four Portugal designers, as well as last season's Merit Award Winner Xiao Li. Attracting leading buyers, talent scouts and industry individuals from around the world keen to see the designer's work up close, it's situated in the heart of Marais and was visited by Anna Wintour herself last season.

NEWS: Fashion Scout Kiev Designers Featured On Style Bubble

Following the success of our Paris Showrooms at the end of the AW14 season, a selection of our Kiev designers have been featured on Style Bubble. With Susie Bubble personally attending the Fashion Scout drinks reception on the closing day alongside other industry figures such as Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles, it was a true celebration of Ukrainian talent. 

Talking to Anna October, Paskal and Yasya Monichkina, as well as commenting on their talent and the statement t-shirts from Anna K, there's no doubt that the Ukrainian designs made their mark.

As part of Fashion Scout Paris, Sarah Mower hosted a special drinks reception in support of the Ukrainian designers showcasing with us this season. A fitting finale for our Paris Showrooms, it attracted press and buyers among the likes of Vogue's international editor-at-large Hamish Bowles, fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier and blogger Susie Bubble as well as buyers from Net A Porter, Luisa Via Roma and Opening Ceremony.

For AW14, our Ukrainian designers consisted of Anna K, Anna October, Yasya Minochkina, Andreeva, Paskal and Lera Leshchova - all individuals who brought their own aesthetics to the space. With the renowned Anna Wintour also personally visiting the showrooms this season, it's safe to say the international talent was of the highest standard.

PARIS SHOWROOMS| Anna Wintour Visits Fashion Scout Paris

As the last day of Fashion Scout Paris draws to a close, the incredibly renowned and respected Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of US Vogue, visited our Paris Showrooms. Taking time to speak to Director Martyn Roberts as well as seeing the designs we have on display this season first-hand, it only emphasises the calibre of talent we have showcasing.

Our Paris Showrooms, which end tonight, have been open for the past six days within which, the work of 16 talented designers have attracted media, press and buyers from around the globe.

PARIS SHOWROOMS| Nova Chiu AW14

Developed in London and with a focus on texture, print and colour, the Nova Chiu brand is one which combines culture with classic silhouettes. Run by Nova Chiu and Jeff Archer, their first show together was under our Ones to Watch initiative during the AW12 season.

Since then, the duo have showcased with us during the SS13 season. Born and bred in China, Chiu graduated from the London College of Fashion before launching her work to the industry. Since then, her career has only propelled with their designs. Now regulars at London Fashion Week, their work has already captured the attention of press among the likes of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and iD magazine. 

Nova Chiu’s AW14 collection will be on display at our Paris Showrooms until Tuesday 4th March.

PARIS SHOWROOMS| Mimi Fasi AW14

The brainchild of designer Miriam Fahsi, Mimi Fasi explores contemporary design inspired by Fasi’s mediterranean roots. Mimi Fasi's designs juxtapose authentic tradition with a modern aesthetic. Unique fabrics and graphic prints combine beautifully to create bold yet elegant designs which channel the avant garde and explore an array of colourful textiles, bringing to life a feeling of the mediterranean. 

Printed silks and opulent embroidery feature heavily in Mimi Fasi collections, adding a luxury element to designs whilst 50s inspired fitted silhouettes combined with sheer kaftans inspire a fusion of east and west.

Born in Worcester, Fahsi grew up in both Switzerland and Morocco. She developed her creative and technical skills at world-renowned institutes in Switzerland, London and Milan before going on to start her own label.

Fresh from her debut at Fashion Scout's London showcase, Fasi will be once again showcasing her collection at our Paris Showrooms which are on until 4th March. Expect to see retro graphic prints and structured silhouettes, all constructed in the finest of raw silks making for a stunningly feminine collection complete with vibrant colour palette.

PARIS SHOWROOMS| Taeseok Kang AW14

A London College of Fashion graduate, Taeseok Kang has pushed the boundaries of handbag design, presenting us with collections which combine luxury leathers with surrealist elements. Utilising human hair in his handbag designs, Kang creates hair tassels and braided hair handles, challenging preconceptions of tradition.

All hand-crafted in vegetarian leather, Kang’s designs explore sexuality and the human body, with past pieces using shape function and detail to reflect aspects of the sexual human body. Inspired by his own sexual curiosity as a child growing up in Korea, Kang gives us a lesson in controversial couture. Upon first glance, Kang’s collections appear to be as you would expect from a luxe fashion brand however on further inspection, erotic undertones seep to the surface as he juxtaposes the subtle with the extreme.

Having previously exhibited at Fashion Scout London, Kang has gone on to show his SS14 collection at Fashion Scout's Paris Showrooms, where he will be returning this season with his latest offering for AW14. Expect sexual narratives in premium leathers as Kang’s innovative and unique vision continues to tackle taboos.
