We are happy to announce Dora Abodi for our AW15 catwalk. The Transylvanian designer graduated from MOD'ART International Art and Fashion Acadamy in 2009, before completing a masters in fashion in Milan in 2013.

Defined as “baroque futurism” the designer's collections are known for religious themes, science fiction and romantasism. In addition to high profile editorials in worldwide Vogue publications, Nylon and WAD Abodi designs have been worn by the likes of Taylor Swift, Fergie and Lindsay Lohan.

We can't wait to see what AW15 has in store for this amazing designer! Freemasons Hall, Covent Garden, February 20^th – 24^th.

Fashion Scout AW15 Welcomes back Lulu Liu!

Chinese born Lulu Liu relocated to London in 2008, and has since had work displayed at both the V&A Museum and The British Royal Ballet in addition to high profile editorials in Vogue, Elle and Cosmopolitan. The designer's graduate collection was nominated for the Future of Fashion award.

Based on the aesthetic of opulence and luxury, Liu creates unique, elegant and above all feminine garments, combining sharp silhouettes with bold colours.

With this her sixth collection showed through Fashion Scout, beginning with AW13 buyer and media acclaimed collection, we can't wait to see what Lulu Liu has in store for Fashion Scout AW15, Freemasons Hall, Covent Garden, February 20^th – 24^th.

Mariana Jungmann returns at our February catwalk show!

Brazilian designer Mariana Jungman returns to Fashion Scout AW15, having shown her debut with us last season. The designer's MA Graduate collection was one of ten to be shown during London Fashion Week in 2014, building on her eponymous women's wear label in 2013.

Jungmann's collections are built around hand-made materials from her native Brazil, fusing florals and lace with the values of haute couture. Her designs are modern and intriguing, with the materials used providing more resistant pieces than typical fabrics.

In her brief time as a designer Jungmann's designs have featured in numerous renowned publications including Vogue, iD and Glamour.

The designer's collection will be taking the catwalk from 20^th-24^th February 2015 at the Freemasons’ Hall in Convent Garden.

PARIS SHOWROOMS| Anna Wintour Visits Fashion Scout Paris

As the last day of Fashion Scout Paris draws to a close, the incredibly renowned and respected Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of US Vogue, visited our Paris Showrooms. Taking time to speak to Director Martyn Roberts as well as seeing the designs we have on display this season first-hand, it only emphasises the calibre of talent we have showcasing.

Our Paris Showrooms, which end tonight, have been open for the past six days within which, the work of 16 talented designers have attracted media, press and buyers from around the globe.

Supporting, nurturing and showcasing new talent is what Vauxhall Fashion Scout is all about; bridging the gap between mainstream media, press and industry and emerging, new and even graduating designers. 

Hand-selecting designers each season, and scouting the Graduate Showcases from across the country make VFS a personal and intimate showcase to be a part of. With help from esteemed members of the industry- including Vogue.co.uk, Browns, Avenue 32, Not Just A Label, Selfridges and POP magazine, S/S13 saw an amazing array of new talent for our off-schedule London Fashion Fashion Week. 

The Vauxhall Fashion Scout One's To Watch showcase is always.. well, one to watch, however this season Hellen Van Rees, Charlotte Simpson, Hana Cha and Ming Pin Tien brought a series of collections that produced a wave of appreciation for the sheer magnetism of new talent in the industry. 

Last season's Merit Award Winner Phoebe English brought in the crowds, including Front Row Guests from The Shop Bluebird, Dover Street Market, CSM & Susie Bubble- who also visited One's To Watch designer from last season, Myzra De Muynck, backstage and Manuela Dack who has been featured many a time on Stylebubble.com. 

Long standing Vauxhall Fashion Scout designers Leutton Postle are often featured in mainstream media and press, impressing the industry with their attention to detail and use of bright and vivid colours to produce an eye-catching, slight tongue-in-cheek but completely wearable collection; a stark contrast to this season's Merit Award winner Heohwan Simulation- who's sharp lines and clean aesthetic are some-what of a calling card for his unparalleled blend of menswear tailoring and femininity in his collections.  

This season, however, saw the celebration of the Graduate designer. With Kingston University showing their MA collection as part of of our off-schedule line up, and debut catwalk collections from Sabine Bryntesson and Zeynup Tosun- the industry can't get enough of these fresh and young-minded designers. Having received attention from Vogue, Sabina Bryntesson's collection did not disappoint, with Zeynup Tosun being highlighted by Susie Bubble as a highlight for the season.

INTERVIEW| Vogue.com's Jessica Bumpus on VFS's Sabina Bryntesson

Interviewed as part of the VFS x Browns Blog Takeover, Fashion Features Editor of Vogue.com, Jessica Bumpus picked CSM MA grad, Sabina Bryntesson as one to keep an eye on. Having presented in the Freemasons Vestible this evening, Bryntesson more than lived up to the acclaim; we caught up with Jessica post-presentation, who had this to say:

VFS: Hi Jessica. When we interviewed you for the Browns Blog, you identified Sabina as a one to watch. What made Sabina's work stand out?

JB: I really like her austere, clean aesthetic and I love the way it's very contemporary with the hats and the way it's styled. There's something really interesting and different about her and I feel like I haven't seen that before. I kind of feel like there's a controlled feeling about it and it's quite calm as well.

VFS: It's really intelligent the way that the music interacts with the collection.

JB: Exactly and I think you can really tell the kind of girl that she is and who she is designing for. It's really interesting and I really like what she's doing.

Day two of the Vauxhall Fashion Scout Browns Blog Takeover sees an exclusive interview with Vogue.com's Jessica Bumpus. Jessica has worked closely with Vauxhall Fashion Scout through our selection panels and mentoring events for the past five years therefore it was vital that we chatted all things VFS with her. 

"What is the importance of Vauxhall Fashion Scout as a platform to emerging designers to the fashion sphere – and particularly British fashion?

Vauxhall Fashion Scout is a bit of a fashion gem really – there’s so much great talent there and if you trace back various designers’ fashion history, you’ll see they showed with VFS. I think they’re very supportive in a very down-to-earth way and that’s important for young designers starting out who don’t know what lies ahead."

NEWS| Merit Award winner Heohwan Simulation in British Vogue

Newly announced Merit Award winner Heohwan Simulation has been featured in the latest edition of British Vogue. In September's Big Fashion Issue, Heohwan Simulation's talents have been scouted for 'The New Chic' piece by Harriet Quick.

Described as one of the 'new talents to watch', Harriet praises 'clever, neat urban wear' and features his wool and leather coat from his AW12 collection. 

"He might well be hitting our collective desire with a boxy, leather-panelled cashmere coat that took numerous toiles to perfect".

Hwan Heo, who was selected as a Vauxhall Fashion Scout's Ones to Watch designer last season and has been presented with the inaugural Merit Award for SS13, will have to get use to such favourable press in the run up to the next fashion week.

A certain Ms Kirsty Ward has been very popular as of late, in fact it seems you can't open a magazine without seeing her name - or jewellery - emblazoned across the page. Kirsty was first hotly tipped by yours truly - Vauxhall Fashion Scout showcased Kirsty's designs as an exhibition designer for SS11 and as VFS One's to Watch for AW11 - whilst Vogue hailed her 'Designer to Watch in 2011'. 

Here's a snippet of the recent press that the acclaimed designer has received, make sure you also check out the My Fashion Life's feature as well as the Because magazine's interview with her. 

Editor Cass Gowing caught up with Kirsty Ward to see how it feels to receive such positive press...

"The press exposure is really great at the minute, I'm working with such a great PR agency (Sane Communications) they are lovely people too. The press side of the business is really important as it definately leads onto sales and helping the brand grow, which is really important to me. 

I've also been getting some really amazing press in the Middle East as my pieces are stocked in Dubai and I visited there for an event earlier this year, the press out there have been really supportive, clocking up features in Grazia, L'Officiel, Time Out, Harpers Bazaar amongst various important Middle Eastern magazines, Newspapers and TV channels."

It seems like Kirsty Ward has been a very busy bee, but what is she up to at the minute?

"At the moment its a mix of production and S/S13 which I'm really excited about, I'm currently working on the final toiles for the garments and I have various jewellery elements lying around inspiring me. As I mentioned in my Twin Factory interview a hint of my inspiration is: Tea ladies and tabards with a modern sci-fi edge."

NEWS| Victoria Spruce wins ITS 2012 Vogue Talents Accessories Award

Congratulations to former graduate showcase designer Victoria Spruce on winning the International Talent Support (ITS) 2012 Accesories award. We originally posted the news about Victoria Spruce being listed as an ITS 2012 finalist back in May (read the full post and interview with Victoria here) and yesterday the winners were announced following the finals that took place in Trieste. As winner of the prestigious Vogue Talents Award for accessories, shoe designer Victoria will receive a photoshoot of her entire collection which will be published on the ITS website alongside an interview. This extremely valuable exposure is integral to emerging designers and we're proud to have scouted Victoria back when she graduated!

NEWS| Georgia Hardinge featured in Vogue

Who caught a glimpse of Vauxhall Fashion Scout's designer Georgia Hardinge in July's Vogue? Her tweed shorts, from SS12, were featured in their 'Urban Angel' trend piece. Vogue states that this look is heavily focused on 'sleek silhouettes, cool metallics and graphic prints' so naturally GH was picked up for this piece. 

Whilst we're talking about Ms Hardinge, why not view this video of the Wolf and Badger Dover Street launch party which features an interview with the designer herself.

NEWS| Yasmin Kianfar listed 'Designer to Know' by Elle

Following being featured by Vogue's as one to watch back in March last year, VFS designer Yamin Kianfar can now add Elle to her list of fans. 

The Brighton based designer has been featured in British Elle's 'Designers to know' column, the magazine interviews Yasmin about inspiration for her collections, the Yasmin Kianfar aesthetic and the future for the brand. The iconic fashion magazine describes Yasmin's 'cooly feminine' collections as "both of-the-moment and utterly timeless".

Yasmin's collections has been stocked in Browns since graduating from esteemed school Central St Martins in 2010, so why not view her SS12 collection here; her feminine cuts and futuristic tailoring make her a perfect choice for the summer months.
