Opening
the second day of shows at Fashion Scout was Judy Wu. Guests were
woken up by the abrupt sound of loud, high-heeled footsteps followed
by an gentle oriental music. This switch in the soundtrack was a sign
of things to come, as Wu showed a collection that was a "merge
of Shanghai and modernity.
The
collection itself was full of A-line shapes including capes, pencil
dresses and wide-leg culottes. Wu gave these classic shapes a twist
with leather detailing in the shape of mini-clouds secured onto the
garments with gold rivets.
Adding
to this were the colours of the collection which went from muted
autumnal blues and browns to brights like fuchsia and orange-these
were accented with clunky booties, thick knitted socks and woven,
neon hair-ties and neck-pieces.
