COLLECTION| Ones To Watch: Anne Sofie Madsen.

Vauxhall Fashion Scout ‘One-to-Watch’, Anne Sofie Madsen was the third of our ‘OTW’ designers to showcase their Autumn/Winter collections, and -quite frankly- justify their ‘Ones-to-Watch’ labels.
Rewind to Anne Sofie’s inaugural Spring/Summer collection and its “wolf in sheep’s clothing” huntress; her barbuous, leather cutouts softened by ethereal silks in paled-down hues. Now imagine she’s maintained her tribal stoicism, but come into Winter with blacks, off-coloured flesh tones, and tailored pieces that work to project an altogether ominous air.
Madsen has evidently sharpened her tailoring since her last showing- with the introduction of more wearable, smart separates- but honoured her illustrator-background with intermittent graphic pieces featuring her hand-drawn artwork.
It was in these illustrations that Madsen’s barely-there, haunting faces touched upon the collections ‘Inuit Goddess’ inspiration, and- along with the haunting, and [at times] disjointed runway track- that the audience found themselves captivated; lost in the depth of Madsen’s intricate, beaded detail.
