Fashion week may be over for another season, but that doesn’t stop
the buzz generated by some of our favourite designers here at Fashion Scout.
Vogue India have covered and reviewed the SS14 collection of Fashion
Scout featured designer Little Shilpa, praising her contemporary deconstruction
of a traditional sari. The collection, entitled ‘Grey Matters’ was a
juxtaposition of “vintage and urban elements” according to Vogue, and it was
presented through Shilpa’s signature accessories in a combination of lace,
tulle and perspex. This meeting of two minds continued past the accessories,
with pleated skirts being offset by men’s shirts and finished with saris, to
suggest the London influences on her traditional background and how this is
incorporated into Shilpa’s design work.
Vogue India have commended the collection, showcased at Freemasons
Hall last week, as one that Shilpa excels at after her well received AW13
presentation at Lakme Fashion Week earlier this year.
Little Shilpa will also be showing in Paris next week.
