HIGHLIGHTS| Fashion Scout London SS14

It has been another incredible season for Fashion Scout designers at Freemasons Hall. Despite the sporadic September showers; front rows were full for the Spring Summer 2014 offering. We look back over the week of catwalk collections and static exhibitions.

Kicking off the week saw the hotly anticipated Ones To Watch SS14 winners showcase their innovative designs to a front row that sported Susanna Lau of Style Bubble and songstress Kate Nash. Helen Lawrence initiated proceedings with a mix media unusually cut line-up, closely followed by the moulded silicon cocooned collection of Graduate Fashion Week Womenswear and Innovation award winner Hannah Williams with Renli Su closing the show with her nomadic lifestyle inspired designs.

Friday was also the day when the world was introduced to the Merit Award winner for SS14; Ones To Watch veteran Yulia Kondranina. It was her meticulous craftsmanship and experimentation that set her apart and won her the accolade. Perfectly fitted cotton looks stunned onlookers into submission; her seamless garment designs sure to be on the wish list of many in the new year.

Fresh from graduate season, the best of the best graced the Fashion Scout Vestibule with their presence on Sunday morning as large crowds rocked up to find out who the next big thing was sure to be. The Royal College of Art, London College of Fashion, Central Saint Martins, Shih Chien Taiwan, Istituto Marangoni Paris and the Edinburgh College of Art were all represented in the diverse selection of upcoming international talents.

Following a highly successful catwalk presentation that included a Twitter takeover from non other that GFW executive board member and industry icon Hilary Alexander of the Swedish School of Textiles; international talent continued its reign over London Fashion Week with the Kiev Fashion Days designers exhibiting their work in the Fashion Scout Prince Regent room.

Monday came to a standstill with the Pam Hogg presentation. With one of the fullest and most recognisable front rows of any show in town; fashion as art has never been so prevalent and as the 'War and Peace' inspired theatrical performance concluded with an en pointe balletic display, friends and guests of the designer struggled to stay seated.

Fashion Scout doesn't end here; follow the designers across the channel where collections will be on display at the Paris Showrooms from Thursday 26th of September through to Tuesday 1st October.
