Ahead of the opening of the Fashion Scout's Paris Showroom, we're taking a closer look at the designers which have not showcased this seasons designs in London, yet have been selected by Fashion Scout to showcase to a global audience in Paris.
First on our list, newly joined Fashion Scout label Tabernacle Twins - the Danish brand by designer Vibe Lundemark. The Tabernacle Twins collections explore fictional narratives of said twins through strong, vibrant fabrics, digital prints and contemporary shapes. Danish born Vibe is an RCA graduate yet remains based in Copenhagen. Her fourth collection - A/W13 (above) - is entitled "Mechanic Chronicle" and has already showcased at Copenhagen Fashion Week to rave reviews.
We caught up with Vibe ahead of the Paris Showroom showcase:
What are you most
looking forward to in regards our Paris Showroom?
We
look forward to be showcasing the new collection among other great upcoming
designers in the middle of Marais.
What do you hope you
will gain from showcasing your A/W13 line with Fashion Scout?
Hopefully
we will get a positive response to the AW13 collection and have a lot of great
meetings with both existing and new clients, as well as promoting the label PR
wise.
There
has been a great response to the show we had in Copenhagen. The prints, knits
and colours have been very well commented. The label has a general narrative
design approach, which is mainly expressed in the printwork and this core is
always well noticed and receives a great critique in the press.
Is there
a specific look from the collection that you feel encapsulates
your aesthetic?
The
look is defined by elegance meeting street elements - joined by colourful
prints and knits. Key pieces, which are very significant for the
collection, would be a short printed and quilted silk bomber jacket, a
slim short jacquard knit dress and the fluid silk dresses...
What is the importance of showcasing your collection in Paris?
What is the importance of showcasing your collection in Paris?
It's
very important for the label to be presented in Paris - it's a great way to
show the collection to international buyers and also meet them in
person.
