Ahead of the Ji Cheng A/W13 catwalk show, an exclusive VIP cocktail party was hosted at Fashion Scout in association with Shanghai Fashion Week and Shanghai Fashion Design's 'Shanghai by Design' initiative. The innovation - which is set to promote China's emerging designers and provide their leading designers with a platform to showcase their designs - ties in hand in hand with Fashion Scout's international outlook approach.
“This is the first time Ji Cheng is showing her collection in London and actually this is our development program in London. Shanghai Fashion Week has been around for 10 years and we’re getting to know more and more talented Chinese designers and we’re hoping to find more international markets. Ji Cheng is the first designer supported by Shanghai Fashion Week and next season we’re hoping to get more and more Chinese designers coming to London. “
Cherrie Zhang (Shanghai Fashion Week Project Manager)
I’m really looking forward to seeing what Ji Cheng has to offer. I think the rise of China around the world has certainly had an effect on fashion. Particularly you are seeing so many more Chinese and international press coming to these events. The Chinese have such a long history, working with silk with such incredible intricacy. I think Fashion Scout is just absolutely brilliant, the quality that you’re seeing at some of the shows are fantastic.
