Arts University College Bournemouth BA Graduate Show Report

Mel Austin

 Anna Tiesen

Rachel Brown

Robyn Egan

Mariya Shulga

Being one of the many alumni coming from Bournemouth I have an added interested in seeing the designers graduate collections. Yesterday I had the chance to catch up with university friends and past lecturers and seeing some beautiful clothing was an added bonus.

A personal favourite was Mel Austin’s collection consisting of a beautiful colour palette - purple shades, creams and greens in light feminine fabrics. Cream textured neck ruffs and jackets layered over shredded loose fringe knitwear, silk slip dresses and sheer lilac body stockings completed the look.

Breaking up the show to a rapturous applause was a childrenswear collection by Anna Tiesen. Playful balloons and rose prints in pastels colours, quilted jackets with sheepskin hoods as well as cute styling with silk headscarves and puss in boots style sack bags on sticks.

The millinery showcased for the AUCB was the most memorable, shaggy fur helmets from Rachel Browne, felt feathers headpieces from Grace Warland, bowler style skull caps from Mariya Shulga and a British flag turban from Sarah Larkin.
