COLLECTIONS| Heohwan Simulation release AW12 lookbook images

Vauxhall Fashion Scout "Ones-to-Watch", Heohwan Simulation have recently released images from their Autumn/Winter lookbook, featuring several pieces handpicked by Vogue Italia's Sara Maino in our Paris exhibition space earlier this year. Korean-born Hwan Heo's severe cuts, exposed leather details, and quilted silk-panels also caught the attention of British Vogue's Jessica Bumpus, who claimed Heo's "strong" aesthetic was what placed the label among her Fashion Week favourites.

The remaining lookbook images can be found here, on the Heohwan Simulation Facebook. For footage from the "Ones-to-Watch" show, click here.

Asger Juel Larsen : Uncle Sam AW 11 Lookbook

The bolshie London College of Fashion graduate stormed the London Fashion Week menswear stage this February during our Ones To Watch group showcase. Grunge, fetish, deconstruction, and American military history were clearly the ideas influencing his debut collection as each look emerged telling a story, bold and daring.

This week, fresh from the cutting room comes Asger’s AW 11 lookbook. At once theatrical and understated, set mainly against a blank canvas, it allows the heavy-duty looks to speak for themselves as they flaunt the tension between sexuality, violence and melancholy that amalgamate in Asger’s work.

Asger’s innovative attitude toward design epitomises what the Ones To Watch initiative is all about. It is playful, courageous and filled to the brim with attitude.

We think the lookbook is both gritty and highly stylised, much like Asger’s catwalk show, and almost has us wishing it was Autumn / Winter 11 already. ...Almost.

Eudon Choi SS11 Look Book

Eudon Choi’s collection compliments a wide use of military pockets and masculine cuts making it perfect for a glamorous handy-woman. The uniform inspired silhouettes in materials fit for the armed forces are contrasted with female, wispy fabrics. Oversized male cuts are made feminine as they float and rest delicately on the models’ curves. Some garments highlight the breasts through sheer material cut in a boxed silhouette rather than a body conscious form. I am reminded of medical uniforms and the deconstruction of men’s work clothes. Pockets are a key feature of this collection with pieces made to look like them even if they are not utilized. It consists of clean lines and impeccable tailoring made up of canvas and mesh in neutral tones. The models have fresh simple hair and make up. The collection works well for a professional woman looking for some alternative lines that highlight erogenous zones as well as being appropriately uniform. I think there are many investment pieces, mostly utilitarian wear put together from a assortment of fabrics, which can be worn over many seasons and brought out again and again. Eudon Choi has created a sensitive and beautiful collection with a stimulating referencing to military attire and feminine power.

Jasper Garvida's SS11 Look Book

Jasper Garvida's SS11 Look Book gives us a lavender infused collection that tantalises the visual taste buds with variety of textures and embellishments. The dresses are teamed with formal cuts of shirt designs, blazers and jackets. The impression of every piece suggests pleasure and debauchery. Women wearing this collection are able to boast tailoring with couture; suits that are in actual fact a party dress. Each piece takes you on a journey, discovering new and unexpected segments possessing a different surface, pattern or ornamentation. There is a child like innocence to this party dress collection which reminds me of’ playing grown ups’. Each garment blossoms as strict tailoring is transformed into glamorous and theatrical detailing that reflects an oriental influence.
