CFE New Market Entry Programme Applications are Open


Programmes are now open for application at the Centre for Fashion Enterprise  - London’s leading fashion business incubator.

It is crucial in today’s market for small businesses to understand their USP and vision, to be better informed and follow a considered development strategy. CFE facilitates this, unlocking creativity and business potential, allowing designers to gain an international foothold.

Many designers have benefitted from the CFE's programmes which are designed to help develop emerging designers business skills and further your brand. Those who have taken the CFE's programmes include; James Long, Mary Katrantzou, Marios Schwab, Holly Fulton, Agi & Sam, Emma J Shipley, Faustine Steinmetz and Phoebe English plus many more. 

New Market Entry Programme

The New Market Entry Programme empowers London-based designer labels with essential knowledge and tools to develop their business infrastructure and growth strategies, enabling them to support their creative abilities.

Fashion businesses have the opportunity to apply for the New Market Entry Programme. The exciting course consists of a two-day intensive programme driven by industry experts. Each business will receive one-to-one support with a fashion business consultant and the following topics will be covered across the two days: 

   Business Planning
   Finance
   Accountancy
   Legal
   Range planning
   Costing & pricing
   Production
   Sales strategies
   Marketing & PR

Application deadline: 5pm, 15 May 2015

EXCLUSIVE | Fashion Scout Selection Panel AW15



The AW15/16 Fashion Scout Selection Panel converged on Tuesday 18th November to decide which designers would showcase with Fashion Scout during London and Paris Fashion Week. A collection of Fashions finest, the panel included Vogue Italia's Sara Maino, renowned fashion commentator Hilary Alexander OBE, Judith Tolley from the Centre for Fashion Enterprise, the British Council, former Merit Award winner Georgia Hardinge and Fashion Scout's own director Martyn Roberts. 

The panel spent the day time looking through all fifty shortlisted designers before deciding on this seasons Merit Award and One’s to Watch recipients. 

The judges where overwhelmed by the level of talent for AW15/16. Commenting on what seems to be a new ‘era’ of designer talent- with a focus on craftsmanship, creativity and colour. Those who are chosen by the judges will have the chance to showcase their collections during Fashion Scout London Fashion Week in catwalk shows, presentations or as part of exhibitions from the 20th - 24th February 2015.

EXCLUSIVE | Mariana Jungmann Joins the CFE's Fashion Pioneers


The Centre For Fashion Enterprise's Pioneer Programme is designed to nurture emerging London-based designer labels, identifying and providing solutions for some of the issues that may be stifling growth in the early stages of business.

Fashion Scout designer, Mariana Jungmann, who debuted her collection at Fashion Scout London in an exciting multi-sensory catwalk show, is the latest to join the best new designers accepted onto the CFE Pioneer Programme.

Mariana Jungmann, will follow in the footsteps of CFE Pioneer Alumni; Simone Rocha, Steven Tai, Haizen Wang and T Lipop amongst others. She will be joined by Fashion East designer Louise Alsop and new talents Faustine Steinmetz, Adrien Sauvage, Liam Hodges and Studio XO.

Of being inducted into the Programme Mariana says; "London is one of the most inspiring places I've ever been, more than that it is the place to be if you want to grow a business. The Pioneer Programme has helped designers that I look up to, to become the huge success they are now. I can't wait for it to start so we can venture into this new journey."

NEWS| Phoebe English joins CFE London's New Fashion Venture Programme



This week Fashion Scout alumni and Central Saint Martins graduate; Phoebe English has moved from the Centre for Fashion Enterprise New Fashion Pioneer program to the New Fashion Venture programme.

Aside from this accolade, Phoebe has also previously won the L'Oreal Professional Creative Award, the Ungaro Bursary and the Chloe Award; alongside her July 2011 English Easton Limited partnership, which involves Phoebe's amalgamation with Rose Easton, who is both the creative collaborator for the brand, whilst being responsible for the business side of the label.

Phoebe English and Rose Easton agreed that "The CFE has been an invaluable asset to the development of our knowledge and business. The New Fashion Pioneer Programme addressed our specific need and we will be forever grateful to the wonderfully kind and patient team". You can read more on the CFE website here

In relation to this, the CFE New Market Entry programme, specifically created for 'start ups that need the tools to grow'  is now exclusively open to Fashion Scout designers, who are registered to a London address with 1-2 stockists. There are 30 spaces available and the mentoring events take place on the 6th & 7th of July. More information here

ANNOUNCEMENT| CFE 's New Market Entry Programme exclusively for Fashion Scout designers.



We are thrilled to announce that the CFE has opened their New Market Entry programme exclusively for Fashion Scout designers.

Are you a past Fashion Scout designer who is registered at a London address and has 1-2 stockists? Now's your chance to enter CFE's esteemed New Market Entry programme specifically created for 'start ups that need the tools to grow'. 

Previous Fashion Scout designers that have been supported by the CFE's programmes include Eudon Choi, Agi and Sam, Leutton Postle, Hermoine de Paula and Georgia Hardinge. 

Georgia received the New Market Entry programme in 2011 and believes: "It has given me the ability to understand the ways of fashion enterprise and to use this in the every day running of my business. This support and advise has proved invaluable in moving my business forward to where I want it to be."

There are 30 spaces available and the mentoring events take place on 6th & 7th July. EXHIBITION| Highlights from the London Exhibition at Vauxhall Fashion Scout











A selection of Britain's most innovative and talented emerging designers have come together for London Fashion Week. At the Vauxhall Fashion Scout Exhibition, you can see, touch, photograph the new collections up-close & discuss with designers their passions, influences- anything! Our esteemed One's To Watch designers; Charlotte Simpson, Hana Cha, Ming Pin Tien & Hellen Van Rees & Merit Award Winner for S/S13 Heohwan Simulation. 

With a fantastic line-up of designers, hand-selected by some of the industry's biggest names such as Vogue.com, Brown's, CFE, Avenue 32, POP Magazine & Not Just A Label, it's no surprise that buyers & media from across the world have visited Vauxhall Fashion Scout to meet these extraordinary designers and their beautiful garments for S/S13. 

The Vauxhall Fashion Scout Exhibition is open from 10am-7pm for media, buyers & public.

NEWS| Exclusive Insight - Vauxhall Fashion Scout S/S13 Selection Panel











The Vauxhall Fashion Scout Selection Panel for London Fashion Week S/S13 has come and gone, but the excitement is still with us a week on...

Beach Blanket Babylon in Shoreditch housed over 40 designers, 14 industry experts and hundreds of beautiful garments last Tuesday, which saw the seasonal Vauxhall Fashion Scout Selection Panel hand-pick the designers that will be joining us at the Freemason's Hall for September's London Fashion Week and the Fashion Scout Showroom in Paris.

Amongst the selected designers, the Merit Award Winner & One's To Watch Designers were selected- the awards that highlight the leading emerging talent at Vauxhall Fashion Scout. These highly esteemed awards have gone to truly talented designers in the past, helping them launch their careers into the industry. Previous Merit Award Winners have included:

David Koma
William Tempest


Applying for catwalk, exhibition and Paris Showroom places, Vauxhall Fashion Scout had nearly 200 applicants for S/S13.

With just the afternoon to select the designers they believe will be the leading new talent for Vauxhall Fashion Scout, our panel of prestigious fashion industry individuals came from all areas within the fashion world- buying, marketing, designing, anything a designer could possibly need when trying to break into the industry.

Yesterday saw the S/S13 Vauxhall Fashion Scout Selection Panel take place at our venue partner, Beach Blanket Babylon in Shoreditch. 

With nearly 200 designer applicants, the "home of new talent" has proven itself as an established and celebrated platform for supporting emerging design talent in the industry, and S/S13 looks to be one of the best ever for Vauxhall Fashion Scout. 

Key industry experts came together to hand select the future designers for Vauxhall Fashion Scout S/S13 at both London & Paris Fashion Week, including the coveted Merit Award and prestigious One's To Watch showcase, that is held as a highlight every season.

Designers are considered for Catwalk, Presentation and Exhibition places and with that  gain access to Vauxhall Fashion Scout's renown Mentoring programme.  

The esteemed Selection Panel for S/S13 included some of the industries most respected and talented individuals, each bringing their own unique perspective and opinion of the shortlisted collections. On the Vauxhall Fashion Scout Selection Panel this season were:

NEWS| MASC named as one of CFE's new pioneer designers




Vauxhall Fashion Scout are thrilled that MASC has been named as one of the new designers for their Pioneer programme. The initiative begins in June and runs for six months, with each mentoring programme tailored specifically for each designer. Joining MASC as new Pioneer designers are Corrie Nielsen, Fanni Schiavoni, Marques Almeida and Teatum Jones. Whilst previous Pioneers include VFS's Elisa Palomino, Georgia Hardinge and Peter Pilotto.

"We are very proud to be one of only five women's wear labels successfully selected by the Centre For Fashion Enterprise to join their exclusive Pioneer ProgrammeWe are thoroughly looking forward to the no-nonsense face-to-face diagnostic sessions with the lovely ladies from the CFE and it will be an honour to join the impressive portfolio of brands who have progressed through the programme".
