Fashion Mode Catwalk Review : Carlotta Actis Barone

Carlotta's collection sauntered onto the catwalk smooth and relaxed. Nude body stockings digitally printed with bold topical newsprint text in varying sizes were underlaid beneath every garment, tying the collection together. The colour palette, based on skin tone, was reflective of it's inspiration as it ranged from pale nude to warmer browns, add touches of black in the lettering. Carlotta achieved a delicate tension between structured tailoring and femininity keeping design sexy with body-contours and hip accentuating silhouettes. Distorted and stacked collar shapes wound around the form whilst a-line jacket style dresses with capped sleeves suggested a ladylike elegance. Adding to this, the models were styled with  bulbous pin cushion hair, lending itself perfectly to the historical theme of imperialism behind the collection.
