Candy Black Design Fashion Scout Media & VIP Lounge

We sent Fashion Scout blogger Charlotte Summers to scope out the newly located Media Lounge at the Freemasons Hall to interview Jason Rubino and Katie Cully, the design duo behind Candy Black . This is what she found...

Candy Black who designed our very own website here at Vauxhall Fashion Scout took on the glamorous task of creating the Media Lounge at the Freemason’s Hall. They wanted to make the most of the already very prominent style of 1920s interior of the building. There was so much inspiration to be taken from the stained glass and marble flooring which adorn the vast art deco structure. Candy Black aimed to create an elegant and regal atmosphere to compliment the space and introduce a modern air.

They also designed the minimalist exhibition space around a Vessel lighting installation of a tree. Vessel Gallery collaborated with Candy Black to supply the lighting for the two spaces. The furniture consisting of four chesterfield sofas and several minimalist rectangle white desks produces a comfortable and chic space. The media Lounge is a relaxing escape from the madness that is London Fashion Week. Candy Black have managed to create a stylish retreat, kitted out with laptops, a selection of refreshments from Ty Nant water, Organic Village Juice and hearty serving of Sushi courtesy of Hi Sushi. The lounge is a retreat for journalists and our VIP guests to upload information as and when the shows happen before they launch themselves back into the buzz of Fashion week.
