COLLECTION| Krystof Strozyna S/S13

The beat of the music resonating around the room echoed the robust architecture of Ancient Greece, which featured as a significant source of inspiration for Krystof Strozyna’s Spring/Summer collection 13.  The iconic architecture of Ancient Greece spurred Strozyna’s structured shoulders, and high waisted, column-like trousers. This architectural theme continued through Strozyna’s incorporation of print, motivated by the work of Piranesi. Fine-line prints of buildings reminiscent of Piranesi’s architectural etchings sat upon silks, and cotton mixes.

Strozyna gives thought to ancient ideals of beauty, with a focus on Elizabeth Taylor as Helen of Troy. The structured, architectural elements in the collection were softened with a feminine colour palette of lilac, coral and white. Delicate flicks on the eyes, flattering cut out detailing and body conscious dresses added to the feminine feel of the collection.

Beautiful lightweight dresses were juxtaposed with oversized jewellery made from grey and coral resin. Finally, the garments were complimented with shoe collaboration with Daniele Michetti. Gorgeous sling back, peep toed heels continued the cut out motif witnessed throughout the collection.
