COLLECTION| Zeynup Tosun S/S13





An army of long legged models armed with metallic caps and chiffon take on male shapes, reinventing by Zeynep using soft chiffon against intricate details and cut-out shapes. The girl is tough and sporty with racer backs, high studded collars and sleek ponytails. The designer’s use of metallics displayed last season is used subtly this time around, accenting an equestrian theme.
Desert colours and gold shades give luxe and elegance to the collection that pays homage to Turkish wedding traditions with detailed veils. Complex in its layering both in terms of concept and technique, the designer talks about the look she wanted portray saying “I wanted the girl to be a little bit sporty, like working men but staying as a woman and being feminine”

Introducing pastel colours throughout the collection, the pale shades soften the look of the metallic and studs. It’s the harshness of brave take on using metallics that make Zeynep Tosun and interesting designer. It’s about keeping things mixed and always evolving with Zeynep. Smart Blazers paired with transparent mesh and cut outs, the sportswear influence is apparent in her work. 
"The veils here are influenced by Turkish tradition, like a wedding veil." The designer talks about the beautifully embellished veils, one of the highlights of her S/S13 collection.
Feathered prints like tattoos adorn the few pieces that bring the collection full circle, ending with a refined look that shows an international flair in her work. Zeynep Tosun is a designer that keeps on moving, exploring new ideas and balancing the classic with the modern creating her own individual style.
