London College of Fashion Masters graduate Jennifer Morris, showcasing her S/S 13 collection here at LFW. The collection itself, represented goddess’ with Jennifer’s love for silks she took her inspiration from saris, Indian culture and the characteristics the women process. Whilst taking into consideration, Jennifer’s inspiration was relevant through the collection. Bright prints, fringed jackets, block colours and loose silks were the main focus in Jennifer’s designs.
Managing to catch up with Jennifer, exploring her aesthetic and her exploration into her chosen theme.
What inspired your collection?
Goddess’ and my obsession with mythology whilst also looking at the characteristics of Indian women, the saris they wear and the meanings behind.
What did you specialise in?
I specialised in Womenswear alone, we weren’t able to do print at university so it’s a new concept that I’ve started since I’ve left. Completed my masters and now hoping to sell.
How long did you have to produce the collection?
5 months which is pretty quick but I got there!
