NEWS| Vauxhall Launch Designer-Customised Adam Cars at LFW

As part of a collaboration with Vauxhall motors, three urban-chic Adam cars have been placed outside the Freemason's Hall. The Adam Slam, Jam and Glam versions, customised by designers Fred Butler, Louise Gray and VFS's James Small respectively have well and truly set the stage with their personalisations.

Fred Butler's design stays true to her bold aesthetic. Bright colours stand out on the sculptural and geometric additional she has placed to the front and back of the car in something she's calling “car couture”. In the creation of a net-like shell, Butler's made something “to ergonomically fit with the body's details.”

Louise Gray's re-invention of the motor displays the loud, statement approach to fashion she is known for. A colourful array of fabrics, consisting of chiffon, PVC and cotton hang over the windscreen and the back of the vehicle, whilst bright red balloons stand out just above. The designer wasn't lying when she said she wanted it to be “a celebration with a party-like feel.”

VFS's James Small's design may be a lot more subtle, but that doesn't mean it's something to miss. The stylish and luxurious print on the car ties in perfectly with the beautiful prints the London College of Fashion Menswear graduate loves. In a wrap of graphic camouflage, the black and pink print of the designer, who has showcased his S/S12 and A/W12 collections with us, is both delicate and detailed.

Set to launch in February of next year, Vauxhall's Adam car, with over one million different combinations available makes for a vehicle perfect for the customer. The three fashion forward designs will remain outside our Freemason's Hall for the duration of Fashion Week and 'Adam Journeys', a film on the design process will be screened on the 18th.
