The
AW13 collection, from the Central Saint Martin graduate, Liz Black centers around the fantastical fictional world Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland'; a world of both innocence and chaos.
With this cited as inspiration, team Toni & Guy worked to construct three distinctive shapes for Liz Black's Autumn/Winter 'characters'. The foundations of each style is a flat base at each side, with hair slicked on top and volume at the back, ensuring modernity, not an intangible theatricality.
Creativity is also matched in the fusion of make-up showcased by The
Body Shop team. Jo Sugar told Fashion Scout how she ‘blocked out eyebrows, using metallic silver,
copper and gold above the eyes; whilst eccentric colour strokes were used under
the eyes’. Orange was used for the character of the Mad Hatter, shocking pink
for the rabbit and electric blue for Alice. Other make up remained contoured
with luminosity present.
