Olga Roh offered her traditional savour vivre for Rohmir's Autumn/ Winter collection, 'Mountain High'. Models in fairisle inspired tweed jackets, sheer ruched separates, and monochrome jumpsuits glided down the catwalk to a soundtrack of rapid percussion. The collection showcased a spectrum of colours mirroring the landscape of an Alpine retreat; a sea off navy, and pale silver, with a light dusting of monochrome atop the collection's grounding palette. Cable knits punctuated a collection whose stand-outs were a body-con dress, and forest green coat, cinched with a leather corset belt. A paradoxically comforting, yet adventurous aesthetic you'd imagine covers the correspondent holidaying woman.
Olga's marriage of the theatrical and natural is inspired by her travels, wanting "the feeling of a holiday in Switzerland or Germany, being in the mountains with loved ones. Those special moments are what I wanted to express." Which is exactly what the collection embodied.
Floor-length gowns with plunging necklines in sumptuous fabrics were accompanied with embellished lace and scintillating metallics. Dresses cut to the knee with feather collars evidence of her Swan Lake inspirations. The romantic allure of the fairytale inspired evening-wear is balanced with androgynous silhouettes and contemporary accents. Offering a balance between luxury and the wearable.
