Ahead of the Rohmir AW13 show, Fashion Scout head backstage to catch
up with the Body Shop’s make up artist, Jo Sugar, to chat about the make up concept
she has created.
Inspired by the era of the 60’s and the prints in the collection; Jo
and her team have updated the 60’s concept with modern spirit, giving it an on
trend depth. Whilst tones are somewhat muted they are no doubt rich, with an
autumnal palette being worn by the models, incorporating the colours of nature;
rosy copper, metallic golds and dusky greys and blacks to be more specific.
Skin was luminous and lips nude so not to detract from the lavish textures and
intricate embroidery showcased in the collection.
As for hair, inspiration no doubt derives from the influential
Bridgitte Bardot, along with hints of the Garconne era. Toni & Guy have
recreated this through a combination of plaited fringes, volumous waves and
height, along with an assortment of chunky loose ponytails. In keeping with the
make-up concept hair is predominantly au-natural and uncomplicated, with the
simple plaits creating interest, which is sure to compliment the intricate
detail of the collection.
