Spectators were transported to the fantastical world of a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, courtesy of Liz Black’s A/W’13 Presentation at Fashion Scout. Amidst the cupcakes, a trio of models whimsically displayed the statement pieces from Black’s collection.
Dramatic sculpting was prevalent throughout the collection, with particular emphasis paid to the shoulders and neck line; respectively enhancing the protrusions and contours of the body. Heavy materials were softened by Black’s masterful combination of flattering cuts and feminine tailoring.
The predominantly monochrome palette was interspersed with block-panels of bold colour, brought to a climax with the central figure of the collection; a homage to Carroll’s femme fatale,The Queen of Hearts. Seated accordingly on a throne, Black’s leading lady was decked in a regal creation of the brightest red, with the ultimate accessory to befit any member of fashion royalty; the statement crown.
