EXHIBITION| Kiev Fashion Days, Lera Leshchova AW14

Ukrainian designer Lera Leshchova has showcased her AW14 collection for her brand ‘LL’ at this seasons Fashion Scout. Taking inspiration from a handmade folk rug in a Ukrainian museum, Leshchova’s collection is rich in texture and experimental in its cuts. A dark colour palette dominates the collection with hints of metallic and purple tones breaking up an otherwise opaque palette. Straight silhouettes are heavily contrasted by a number of voluminous woven textured garments which Leshchova has created using traditional ukrainian carpet weaving techniques.

Each clean lined garment in this AW14 collection features it own eye-catching experimental detailing, smart grey dresses are combined with oversized woven sleeves and metallic panelling adds interest to pelmet mini skirts. Leather, drape, caracul and mens suiting fabrics are utilised throughout the collection resulting in functional designs in luxe materials complete with high fashion detailing.
