Eager to know what hair and beauty looks are going to be hot in SS14, team Fashion Scout headed backstage at Swedish School of Textiles to get to get a peek at the action. There were a few definitive hair or make-up trends spotted; au natural hair and make-up, bare eyes, a host of sleek hairstyles, along with rosy complexions.
The majority of the models had their long, tumbling hair
blow-dried straight but not poker straight- the style gave the illusion that
hair was naturally straight and not necessarily ironed down with straighteners
to give a sleek finish. Movement with a slight texture was essential to this
look. The front of the hair was combed back from the face in small sections,
using a tailcomb and label.m Hold and Gloss Spray to hold it in place.
As for make-up looks, natural luminosity seemed to be the
theme du jour. Faces were fresh,
radiant and glowing thanks the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop- the Vitamin
E face mist was spritzed on in abundance to give that dewy, plumped-up effect.
Aloe Soothing Daycream ensured gentle hydration and a smooth canvas to apply
moisturising liquid foundation. Cheekbones were illuminated with The Body Shop
Radiant highlighter and cheeks were lightly dusted with subtle rosy shades of
All in One blusher. Under-eye circles were camouflaged with creamy concealers
and eyes were slightly defined with soft, neutral shades. Mascara was minimal
not to detract focus away from the face.
