FRONT ROW| Ones to Watch SS14

Front row at Ones to Watch we spoke to Dean of Enterprise and International Development at CFE Wendy Malem.

What are you most looking forward to about the three designers who are showcasing today with Fashion Scout; Ones To Watch SS14?
A lot of talent comes out of the Ones To Watch and so we're looking here really to see who we can pick up and who we can work with, what Fashion Scout is standing for at the moment. I think the space that they are going to occupy and the things that they are going to show are things that we really won't see at any other show during fashion week so it's really important that we're here.

The CFE is well renown for supporting young talent; what do you think of Fashion Scout this season?
I think it's really broadened what it does, it's not so exclusive it's more inclusive. It gives people the chance to practise their talent and show what they are doing to a wide audience without having to be a particular type of designer and that's really important today.

Well known for supporting up and coming designers, Susanna Lau of Style Bubble was once again front row at Fashion Scout. The influential blogger was out to watch the new offerings from Helen Lawrence, Hannah Williams and Renli Su and we caught up with her before the show began:

What is it about the Ones To Watch show that brought you to Fashion Scout today?

It's always a good place to find new talent, I always try to make it along, it's a great platform for young designers”

We also caught up singer, songwriter and style icon Kate Nash

What did you think of the Ones to Watch show?
There were elements of all the collections that I liked. I’m taking in the rubbery material because that was so interesting to look at. I feel like I was mostly focused on that because the texture was so interesting. I thought that it was really cool the way outfits were sort of printed on to it.
I loved the styling of the Hannah William’s collection, the shoes and the socks; the way that it was all pulled together was really awesome.
The Renli Su’s collection looked super comfortable, something you could wear on tour or on the road.
