Backstage at Hannah Williams, Helen Lawrence and Renli Su – who
collectively form the collaborative showcase – Ones To Watch; the Tony&Guy
team have been working hard to create a concept which complements all three
collections on the runway. So ahead of the show, the Fashion Scout blog team
caught up with Tony&Guy hair specialist, Efi Davies to hear about the final
product. Here’s what she had to tell us:
Explain the concept you
and your team have created:
‘Since three talents are
celebrated in the Ones To Watch showcase, it was important we created a style
able to please all. Both strength and softness are portrayed in all three
collections alike, so we chose to focus on this by marrying the two. Softness was
represented through movement and texture; and strength through a strong off the
face hairline, to provide a more self-assured concept – the art of contrast is
predominant throughout’.
What products have you
used to create this aesthetic:
‘We have used Label.m Sea
Salt Spray to enhance movement in the lengths, Holding Gloss for the front hair
line to make it look wet and strong; and as a finishing touch we will use
Label.m Gel around the hair line, just before the models walk’.
Which emerging hair trends
can you predict for SS14:
‘Most definitely texture.
Texture is a huge factor, along with a more ‘off the face’ strong hairline.
Think flat sides with volume on the top and movement in the lengths’.
