Tweeting about their excitement for the show, stockiests Harrods waited to see Das’s SS12 collection along with an eager crowd. Lucky for everyone perched around the catwalk, they were not disappointed.

Angelic. This was the only word that can summarise the soft and delicate collection that sisters Reem and Hind Beljafia had created. Inspired by classical empires the show began with fine chiffon Grecian dresses in bright white, peach, dove grey, coffee cream and sky blue. Long sleeves gathered at the back into drapes of fabric that moved with fluidity as the models moved. Rope in corresponding shades crossed over the back and at times was fixed around the waist to give a romantic goddess like finish. There was a feeling of purity and sensuality as each model was wrapped in light translucent material.

As the collection continued to delight with supple silhouettes, another dimension was added with taupe fitted tunics, shirts with exaggerated shoulders and wrap shirts with pencil skirts. These pieces came with plates of beading in neutral shades that gave the appearance of chainmail. When the next set of chiffon gowns remerged the rope was now replaced with small inserts of this beading. Fragile gowns were given inserts of embellishment, such as the chainmail panels around the waist that held the delicate garments in place. Always synched at the waist. Each model was lavished in modern luxury that combined the styles of strong empires with pure simplicity.

Paying tribute to the notability of this collection Amber Le Bon hit the runway appearing at one point in a peach ethereal dress embellished across the neckline. Returning with the sisters at the end, the show was closed as the trio took their final applause with grace.
