Lucie, what brings Toni and Guy back to Vauxhall Fashion Scout every season?
We have that same philosophy for nurturing new talent. Vauxhall Fashion Scout are helping designers and Toni and Guy, from a hair perspective, encourage all of our young and up and coming stylists to get involved with such an amazing event. It’s a chance for them to build up their skillset and have a great experience. We audition stylists from around the country, and we also have people coming from all over the world. This year we’ve had people from Beijing, people from Russia, and then again those spread across nationwide in the UK.
What has Toni and Guy gained from its collaboration with Vauxhall Fashion Scout?
Taking part in Vauxhall Fashion Scout feeds the imaginations of so many up and coming hairdressers. And they bring that back into all of their salons and motivate the rest of their staff. That’s what keeps us at the cutting edge of fashion; all of those new trends, we can take them back into the salons and then translate them into wearable hair. That’s what our clients love, that’s why they come to us.
What did you think of the Ones to Watch Show?
Men’s Ones to Watch: lovely. It the hot ticket of the week. There were some really great designers there. A really nice variation between them all as well, which is always great to see. Hair for men’s is obviously very different to women’s but it’s always nice to see different trends that are breaking through. They have a slower progression.
Have you seen any of the womenswear shows this past week?
Lots. I particularly loved yesterday Georgia Hardinge, and also yesterday Joanne Hynes. And also I loved Izmaylova, Russian designer and Elisa Palomino, amazing as well. And Inbar Spector, so lots! There’s a lot of stand out designers there.
