U.MI - 1 Spring Summer 2012

Photography by Magdalena Golembiewska
To kick off men’s day at VFS we were treated to an enchanting exhibition from U.M1-1.  Set in the vestibule, nine live models were positioned around the hall modeling the SS12 collection. With drinks flowing and cameras snapping, the fashion pack took note of this sophisticated presentation.

Oxbridge and classic tailoring complemented the models chiseled looks. Prince of Wales check was cut into tailored jackets and trousers, while the braces that held their shorts in place grazed crisp shirts. The color palette was fresh and neutral, made up of almond tones, enlivened with blues and browns. Drawing on Cubist influences garments had a simple flat aesthetic. The contemporary slant on traditional menswear mixed tactile heritage with the simplicity of minimalism.
